1. Information We Collect and Process
SubGenius AI minimizes data collection to the absolute technical minimum required to operate our service:
- Account Identifiers: Your email address when requesting a sign-in link or purchasing credit packs. We do not require or store passwords.
- Ephemeral Audio Processing: To generate your requested subtitles, audio extracted locally by your client software is transmitted over encrypted TLS 1.3 connections to our edge inference nodes. This audio stream is held only in volatile memory during generation and is immediately purged upon delivery of your subtitle cues.
- Transaction Records: Payment transaction metadata (invoice IDs, credit balances, timestamps) managed securely through accredited third-party payment gateways and Merchant of Record partners (Lemon Squeezy / Stripe / Razorpay). SubGenius AI never collects, processes, or stores your credit card, debit card, or banking credentials.
- Telemetry & Rate-Limiting Metrics: Anonymized request counts and IP addresses solely used for malicious traffic prevention, DDoS defense, and quota enforcement.
2. Zero Video Retention Architecture
Unlike conventional cloud-based video platforms that require you to upload multi-gigabyte video files to centralized servers, SubGenius AI employs Proprietary In-Browser Acceleration Technology. Your raw video footage remains entirely in your device's memory. Video files are never uploaded to our servers, never stored in databases, and never accessible by our employees or third parties.
3. Artificial Intelligence & Model Training Exclusion
We respect the proprietary nature of creator content. SubGenius AI does not train, retrain, fine-tune, or benchmark artificial intelligence models on your user content, transcriptions, audio, or video files. Your intellectual property remains exclusively yours.
4. Compliance with Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act)
SubGenius AI operates in compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (including Sections 43A and 72A, and the IT Rules, 2021). As a Data Fiduciary:
- Affirmative Consent: We collect personal data (email) only upon your affirmative consent, confirmed via interactive authentication.
- Right to Access & Correction: You may at any time request access to your quota history and registered email, or request updates.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten"): You may request complete erasure of your account, token logs, and associated quota records by emailing our Grievance Officer.
- Data Localization & Cross-Border Transfers: All international data transfers adhere strictly to permitted notification mechanisms and statutory schedules established by the Government of India.

For users accessing SubGenius AI from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or the United States:
- Legal Basis (GDPR Art. 6): Processing is conducted on the basis of contract performance (providing requested subtitle files) and legitimate security interests.
- Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CCPA): SubGenius AI does not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information to third parties or advertising networks.

6. Cookies and Local Client Storage
We do not use invasive third-party tracking or advertising cookies. We utilize browser LocalStorage and secure session storage strictly for:
- Maintaining your active authentication session token.
- Caching your local subtitle project drafts so your work is not lost when refreshing.
- Remembering your UI preferences (such as dark/light themes and preset selections).
